Mazda CX-30 gains new trims and equipment

Mazda has announced a series of updates to its family-sized CX-30 SUV, including new trim levels, revised exterior styling and additional safety equipment.

The updated CX-30 will arrive in the UK before the end of 2026, with the range expanding from 17 to 21 engine, gearbox and trim combinations. A new ‘Homura Plus’ trim joins the line-up, while a ‘Makoto’ special edition will follow in early 2027.

The existing choice of petrol engines remains unchanged, with a 140hp ‘e-Skyactiv G’ and a more powerful 186hp ‘e-Skyactiv X’. The latter is also available with all-wheel drive. Most trim levels offer a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes, although the entry-level ‘Prime-Line’ is manual-only.

New trims and updated equipment

The biggest addition is the ‘Homura Plus’, which sits above the existing ‘Homura’ trim. It features black exterior detailing, including the grille surround, roof rails and badges, alongside a more generously equipped interior.

The equipment list includes electrically adjustable front seats with black leather upholstery, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a surround-view parking camera and upgraded LED lighting. The ‘Homura Plus’ also introduces ventilated front seats to the CX-30 range for the first time.

The regular ‘Homura’ receives similar black exterior detailing, while ‘Exclusive-Line’ and range-topping ‘Takumi’ models adopt contrasting silver roof rails, grille surrounds and window trim.

‘Takumi’ models also gain an upgraded surround-view camera system with Mazda’s ‘See-Through View’ technology, designed to help drivers see obstacles around the vehicle when manoeuvring.

Elsewhere, the entry-level ‘Prime-Line’ benefits from updated automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring, including a new warning system for approaching traffic when opening the doors. Driver monitoring tech is now standard across the range, while ‘Centre-Line’ models gain larger 18-inch alloy wheels.

Two additional exterior colours, ‘Aero Grey’ and ‘Zinc Green Metallic’, will also be available.

Makoto special edition coming next year

Mazda will introduce a further trim level, called ‘Makoto’, in early 2027. The special edition will feature a lighter interior combining cloth and stone-coloured artificial leather upholstery, alongside black alloy wheels, mirror housings, grille detailing and badges. Final UK specifications for the Makoto have yet to be confirmed.

The updated Mazda CX-30 range will arrive in the UK later this year, with pricing to be announced during the autumn.

The Mazda CX-30 has a New Car Expert Rating of B with a score of 68%, and has received generally positive reviews from UK motoring websites. It has been praised for its driving dynamics and interior quality, although it has been criticised for its small boot and poor practicality compared to rivals.
